Your child snorkels over seagrass meadows, climbs a coconut tree, leaps off the jetty, cooks what they forage and builds a raft they race in the shallows. Five days of activities, with a group of like-minded children, all carefully curated, facilitated, and delivered by Wildlings.
You get a luxury villa, beautiful beach, tranquil pool and time to relax.
Batu Batu sits on Pulau Tengah, a private island inside Malaysia's Sultan Iskandar Marine Park. Getting there from Singapore takes two and a half hours by road to Mersing, then twenty minutes on a speedboat. No airport, no check-in queue, no jet lag at the other end.
Your child's five days
Arrival evening. Arrive on the island as per your scheduled boat. Your children will join us in the evening for a 90 minute orientation and team building session to kick off camp.
Day One. The Marine Environment. A morning learning how the island's marine biologists care for the environment and track turtles, followed by a guided snorkeling session over the island's reefs and seagrass meadows.
The afternoon moves to the island gardens: foraging in the organic garden, learning about the sustainability features of the island, culminating with an outdoor cooking session.
Day Two. Island Adventures. Climbing the tall coconut tree, braving the jetty jump and water safety games.
The afternoon turns to making things, foraging for sea glass and driftwood, learning to use forest school tools, and creating a unique artwork to take home.
Day Three. Pulau Besar Island excursion & evening campfire celebration. A boat to neighbouring Pulau Besar for a bio-cultural walk, recycling in action and island life cooking demo and tasting. Family members are welcome to come along for an excursion fee of $55 SGD per person.
The final evening is our celebration session: dinner together, campfire skills, marshmallows, a torchlit night walk and a nature show to wind down.
Day Four. Raft Building Challenge Learn the history of the Vietnamese Boat People and the skills needed to work together to build a raft and race in the raft competition along the picturesque sunset beach.
Wrap up camp with certificates, farewells, fond memories and new friends.
And what about your five days?
The camp is completely drop-off. Book your family villa package, arrive on the Island, and relax whilst we take kids of your kid's adventures. Try the snorkling, diving and more offered by the dive centre, join the talks run by the conservation centre, visit the spa, hike around the Island, enjoy a cocktail by the pool - its up to you.
We find most families like a blend - time for adults and time for family. We've woven family time into the programme for what we feel is the perfect balance. Questions parents ask
My child has never snorkeled is that ok?
Don't worry. We start with water safety and teaching snorkling technique before entering the water. There is time to do a test run with your children on arrival day to see if they are comfortable with snorkeling equipment - just see the dive centre for help.
Can we book just a couple of days?
No and that is a deliberate part of the offer. The same group of children attend the whole camp, which is what turns a group of strangers into friends.
Is my six-year-old too young?
The camp is built for ages 7 to 12. A six-year-old can join if they attend with a sibling aged eight or above. This is because an older sibling helps a younger sibling to feel settled and confident away from their parents.
Do I have to join in?
No. The camp is designed so you get a holiday too. You are welcome at the Pulau Besar excursion at additional cost.
When exactly do we arrive and leave?
The resort will advise on the boat options for your stay. You will need to arrange transport from your home to the Mersing Jetty, 2.5hrs from Singapore.

All camp dates are set to align with local and international school holidays in Singapore and Johor Bahru.
