Gates open at 3.45pm, programme starts at 4.15pm to allow for arrival from school. The arrival exploration time allows children to satisfy their curiosity and play-urges then be fully ready for the session to commence at the allotted time. This is a 9 week term. Term 2 dates: 15 Apr to 17 Jun 2026 (9 weeks) No session on 27 May 2026 (Hari Raya Puasa) Sunbirds is Forest School for children who are ready to do more. For children aged 5 to 6.5 years, Sunbirds builds on the foundations of Sprouts with more challenge, more independence and more adventure. Children take ownership of their activities, work together on real projects and develop the physical and social skills that come from spending meaningful time outdoors every week. In our private 1.25 acre nature space at Dempsey and the surrounding fields and green spaces, your child will experience authentic Forest School led by qualified Level 3 Practitioners. Sessions are shaped by the children, the environment, seasons and cultural celebrations. Our leaders design activities based on what they observe in the group and what the children themselves want to explore. This is not a class with a fixed curriculum. It is a long-term relationship with the environment and a community built around outdoor learning. What your child will experience: - Nature exploration, wildlife discovery and plant identification across Dempsey - Den building, shelter construction and creative problem-solving - Nature arts and crafts with found and natural materials - Introduction to tools, knot tying and hands-on making - Physical games, team challenges and adventurous play - Fire experiences, campfire cooking and outdoor food preparation Session structure: Arrival and free play > Welcome circle and warm-up game > Exploration time with guided activities > Child-led play and discovery > Closing circle and reflection > Farewells This term families are invited to our end-of-term party and our annual Community Festival. In other terms we run family socials such as laser tag (Term 1) and raft building (Term 3). Returning Forest School families receive a 10% loyalty discount. Sibling discount: 15% off a second, third or fourth child when one child is enrolled at full or loyalty rate.
