Five full days of hands-on outdoor adventure at Wildlings Dempsey: natural terrain, a signature campfire and outdoor cooking area, climbing features and sheltered spaces for building, making and creating. This is proper outdoor education. Full day camp: 9:00am to 2:00pm, Monday to Friday, 7th to 11th September. Drop-off from 8:45am. Lunch is included: bento lunches from our caterer, with a choice of standard, vegetarian or allergy-friendly meals. Pick your child's meal at booking. Home time is 2:00pm. Children are involved in the design of their camp week, so every camp is unique. Our educators get to know the children, then plan the week's experiences around the interests of each group, drawing on the environment, the forest school ethos, years of experience and our bespoke catalogue of experiences. Adventure Camp builds practical outdoor skills, teamwork, resilience, problem-solving and confidence, and Hornbills may venture further, across Dempsey fields and to the camp road playground. What to expect: - Campfire cooking and outdoor food experiences - Forest School tool use and woodcraft - Knots, lashing, shelter and den building - Ecosystem exploration, pond dipping, environmental science and sustainability - Plant life and wildlife, including insect discovery and chicken-care - Nature crafts with natural materials - Team challenges, adventure games and physical exploration Your child should be 6.5 years or older for their first Hornbills Adventure Camp (returning Wildlings campers are welcome from 6 years) and happy to be dropped off. If your child is 8yrs to 8.5yrs old and this is their first Wildlings camp please enroll them in Hornbills, otherwise please select Eagles. Bring a water bottle, morning snack, sun hat, covered shoes and a change of clothes. Full details are in the camp guide, emailed to you after booking. Capable, confident and ready for adventure.
