Wildlings Dempsey is our private nature space where older children develop character, confidence and resilience in the great outdoors. Wildlings Dempsey sits within a tropical jungle environment with dense planting, natural terrain, a signature campfire area and an extended environment that stretches into surrounding fields and jungle trails. Camp is 9:00am to 12:30pm daily, Monday to Friday. Drop-off from 8:45am. Eagles Challenge Camp is designed specifically for 8.5 to 11 year olds who are ready for more. Children are involved in the design of their camp week, so every week is unique. Our educators plan experiences based on the interests of each group, and Eagles get access to the full environment: the campfire area, the jungle trails, the treehouse, the climbing tree, the slackline and beyond. Expect harder challenges, greater independence and the kind of outdoor skills that build lasting confidence. What to expect: - Advanced fire skills and independent camp cooking - Survival skills and challenges - Advanced tool use and creative woodworking - Navigation, orienteering and expedition skills - Shelter building, knots, lashes & tent pitching - Environmental science, foraging, garden projects and sustainability - Team expeditions and physical challenges Every child brings something different to camp. We see future scientists, builders, leaders, problem-solvers and adventurers, and our educators draw out each child's strengths. Bring a water bottle, snack, sun hat, covered shoes and a change of clothes. Come ready to embrace the great outdoors! Why Wildlings? Camp Extension (12:30-3:00pm) The Camp Extension programme at Dempsey is available from 22nd June onwards. Check our later summer camp weeks for full-day options. Your child should be 8.5 years or older to join Eagles. If your child is between 8-8.5yrs and this is their first Wildlings Camp please enroll them in Hornbills and we will adjust groups if appropriate after the first morning.
