Welcome to Sunbirds At Wildlings we are immensely proud of our Sunbirds Forest School Program, a nature-inspired adventure designed especially for children aged 4 to 6 years old. Our engaging sessions, offered on Wednesdays after school and Saturday mornings, provide young learners with the opportunity to get outside and play in the wild. Why Choose Forest School for Your Child? At this critical stage of development, children are like sponges, soaking up experiences and knowledge from their surroundings. Our Forest School Program is carefully crafted to harness this innate curiosity and provide a holistic learning experience. Here's why it's the perfect choice for your young Sunbird: 1. Nature's Classroom: Our forest sessions transform nature into a classroom, where your child can explore, discover, and learn in an unstructured, yet safe and supportive environment. 2. Holistic Development: From physical activities that build strength and coordination to emotionally nurturing moments, our program encourages well-rounded growth of the whole child. 3. Creativity & Imagination: With a focus on child-led play, we ignite your child's creativity and imagination, helping them develop problem-solving skills and a love for learning. 4. Environmental Stewardship: We believe in nurturing the next generation of environmental stewards. Your Sunbird will learn to appreciate and care for the natural world. What to Expect in Our Sessions: Our Sunbirds Forest School Program follows a structured yet flexible format: Arrival & Free Play: As the children arrive, they have the freedom to explore our purposely designed nature space, fostering independence and a sense of wonder. Welcome Circle & Warm-Up Game: We gather together for a welcoming circle and an engaging warm-up game, promoting social interaction and teamwork. Exploration Time with Optional Guided Activities: During this phase, your child can choose from a range of guided activities or simply continue to explore independently, providing a balance between structured and child-directed learning. Child-Led Exploration & Play: We encourage curiosity and self-discovery, allowing children to lead their own adventures while our experienced facilitators ensure safety and support. Closing Circle: Our sessions end with a closing circle, where children share their experiences, fostering communication skills and reflection. Farewells after a session full of new experiences
