Our Forest School Summer Club will take place on Wednesday afternoons from 3.45-5.30pm weekly between Wednesday 29th June and Wednesday 10th August, for a total of 7 weeks. Our club takes place in our purposefully designed Nature Space in Dempsey. Our club is targeted at children with an adventurous spirit in need of a place to let off steam after a busy day or week of indoor instruction. Our Forest School Club sessions are inspired by the natural world and its cycles, cultural celebrations and stories. This helps children to develop a strong sense of their place in the world. We work to encourage the next generation of caretakers for our planet to emerge through the personal experience of the wonder of nature. We provide children with the option to participate in traditional outdoor experiences such as making bows and arrows, taking care of insects and plants, and developing practical skills such as how to cook on a campfire and how to build a natural shelter. Like all of our programmes, these sessions have a strong influence on the development of emotional intelligence, self-esteem, and social skills. Sessions are largely child-led, involve plenty of play and exploration, and the experiences provided are based upon discussions with the children and our observations of their interests. Children can look forward to experiencing all of the best activities enjoyed by children attending our morning camp programmes.
